Riding Solo With Honda CR-Z

The Honda CR-Z is probably one of the most anticipated cars in the past few years. When it was first unveiled as a concept car in the 2007 Tokyo Auto Show, people were already swarming to catch a glimpse of it. And when it was announced for production in 2009, people were even more eager for its release.

And now, the first batches of units have been put up for sale in Japan since late February of this year. The North American sales, on the other, is expected to begin this August, with sales to other countries now also on the planning stage. So, now that it's finally in the market, is the CR-Z worth all the fuss?

One thing that will definitely make you want to get behind the wheel of the CR-Z is the fact that it's a hybrid. Though there are already several other hybrids in the market, Honda promises that the car would be different. For one, the CR-Z offers a greater fuel efficiency compared to some of the top competitors. According to vehicle testings, the car was able to post an efficient 39 miles on a gallon. As a comparison, the Toyota Prius, currently the most popular one posted about 41 miles per gallon.

But of course, while the car is indeed great at saving gas, there would still be the question of how good does it really drive. Honda markets the CT-Z as “a fun sports coupe hybrid” and once you get behind the wheel, you will probably agree on this one. The new integrated Parallel Motor Assist allow the driver to have more control on the power that are being put down on the wheels, thus a better driving experience. The driver also has three options to cho9ose from in terms of driving setting, which affords more control.

Another thing that will definitely add to the CR-Z's great driving experience is the the car's interior itself. The cabin is rather spacious for a car this size and the boot actually has a lot of space to carry things. The dash is also greatly designed, which adds a bit of class to the finely laid out dashboard, which was designed with practicality in mind.

The CR-Z is now starting to make waves after its release. It was recently feature in the “Ridin Solo” music video by artist Jason Derulo. Here, you will definitely see the CR-Z in action. And once you get to watch the video, you will agreed that this one is definitely a must have.
